River Hebert Wilderness Adventure Camp

This summer Terrasonga had the opportunity to run a Wilderness Adventure Program in conjunction with Trinity United Church in River Hebert. The camp was a big success with lots of campers and lots of smiles! The campers learned about edible plants, shelters, fire by friction (both hand drill and bow drill) and many other skills. Check out the pictures below.

River Hebert Bugs are Cool Camp

Terrasonga had the good fortune to team up with Trinity United Church in River Hebert and run a week of Summer Camp. We spent the mornings searching for insects and other creepy crawley's as well as scrapbooking and skittle breaks where we had to "be the bug"! A lot of fun with some great kids! Check out the photos below.

Wilderness Adventures Summer Camp

Our first day at camp was spent learning about and trying some wild edible plants. We identified plants like dandelion, red clover, sheep sorrel and some poisonous plants such as cowbane, water hemlock and deadly nightshade. We cooked up and ate some red clover fritters and then worked on learning the bow drill fire making method.
